Sanglier Cellars 2018 Right Tusque Cabernet Sauvignon

FARMING

Sustainability is our everyday approach to farming. We walk the vineyards, know the vines, we understand our boots on the ground are the most important thing we can do to ensure our farming is in balance with the environment. We count insects, we promote biological diversity, we use organic solutions. We are good stewards.

VINEYARD

This vineyard is in Mendocino County just south of Hopland. The vines are planted in loamy soils crafted long ago by an ancient river. A warm climate site, the grapes ripen slowly but intensely. Farmed by one of my former, long time vineyard managers these grapes are cared for exactly how I would hope.

WINEMAKING

Clean, Hand-Crafted wines are what we do.  We have been doing it for years. Excellent vineyards and superb farming lend themselves to non interventionist winemaking.  We use time, temperature, and hand pump overs to achieve the texture, extraction of aromatics and depth of flavors in our wines. No additives can compete with keen observation, hard work, and patience in the cellar. These wines are unfiltered and unfined, these are honest wines.

THE WINE

Aromas of cassis and a little black cherry framed by warm spice and toasted brioche rise gently to your nose. Beautiful in the glass, the wine carries through with a rich mid palate and a lingering finish. The tannins are elegant, the flavors rich in the mouth. A truly lovely cabernet with a touch of cabernet franc and it delectable spiced chocolate.
