
2008 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir
Aromatics – It is always fun to find a wine that continues to evolve and change in the glass. This pinot has layers and layers of aromatics. Our tasting group found dried thyme, rhubarb, root beer, smoky bacon, mushrooms, and chocolate covered cherries.
On The Palate – This pinot is velvety and rich, filling the mouth with lush strawberry and smoky black cherry. A powerful wine cloaked in the elegance of balanced tannins and French Oak.
Harvest Date - October 2nd
Clones - 828, 777, Swan, Pommard
Winemaking - The grapes were cold soaked for 3 days and then fermented at cool temperatures. The wine was moved to barrels when the fermentation reached 3º brix. The wine finished primary fermentation in the barrel and was fermented completely dry.
Barrel Program-The Russian River Pinot Noir was aged for 11 months in 100% French Oak.
